Abstract guidelines

Deadline for submitting abstracts/session proposals is: 31 December 2018

Abstracts/Session Proposals must be submitted electronically in English using the ESHD2019 website. Please follow carefully the instructions for abstract layout and submission.
After you create your account in the online registration system you can submit your work.

Please follow the instructions and upload your work accordingly:

1, First, please enter the abstract title.

2, Please choose from the drop-down menu if you are uploading an ‘Abstract for oral presentation’ or a ‘Session proposal’.

Abstract: Candidates must provide an abstract of max. 1500 characters (with spaces) and an extended abstract of up to 4 pages uploaded in a PDF file onto the submission site.

No individual may submit more than one paper as a first author, participants may, however, be the co-authors of other papers. At the same time, every participant can act as chair or discussant in addition to presenting a paper.

Session proposal: Session proposals should include 4-5 speakers, a chair and discussant. The roles of session organizer, chair and discussant can be fulfilled by the same or different persons. Proposals should provide a general introduction specifying the theme of and background to the session (max. 1500 characters) as well as individual abstracts for each of the papers (max. 1500 characters). Persons included in session proposals also need to submit their paper and to fill the registration form individually. They should also provide the session title during abstract submission in the given textbox.

3, If your work is part of a ‘Full Session proposal’ please provide the title of the session separately.

4, Please upload the abstract body text for the short abstract. This is limited to a maximum of 1500 characters (with spaces). The character counter will indicate if you have run out. The system can only handle plain text format, so tables, pictures, special characters cannot be uploaded, these will not show up correctly.

5, Proofread the abstract to verify that it is correct before completing the submission process. Please ensure you thoroughly check your submission for spelling and grammatical errors as accepted abstracts will be printed as per your submission.

Click on the „Submit Abstract” button, but only when you are sure that your abstract is complete and in final form.

6, After that, please upload the details of your co-authors including their full name, and workplace.

7, For your submission we also need an extended abstract of up to 4 pages uploaded in a PDF file onto the submission site. The pdf cannot exceed 5 MB.

Submitters will be notified if their work has been accepted from 31 January 2019.

Presenting authors are required to register and pay their registration fee till 30 April 2019. Any presenter not registered for the conference by this date will not have their abstract included in the program.
