The 3rd ESHD conference will take place in Hungary, in the town of Pécs, about 250 km from Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest. The conference will be hosted by the University of Pécs, all sessions of the conference will be held in the building of the Faculty of Humanities. The faculty is located about 20 minutes walking distance from City Centre, and it is surrounded by a Botanical Garden.

The history of higher education in Pécs dates back to 1367, when Louis I of Anjou, king of Hungary initiated the establishment of a university in the episcopal city of Pécs. After a short medieval period in the 14th century, the University of Pécs was re-founded in 1921, and has become one of the most famous, prestigious institutions having a leading role in regional education. It has nearly 20,000 students, 1,600 academics, and ten faculties which cover the full spectrum of high-quality higher education.
